Project Wallarah - A Timeless, Organic Bathroom

Here it is, all the juicy details of Project Wallarah's timeless & organic main bathroom. Let's dive straight in.....

When I am designing a bathroom, I consider many factors along side aesthetic and function. To me a bathroom should provide a tranquil experience that leaves you feeling rested, relaxed and cleansed. Think 'day spa' vibes. Wouldn't you love to have a bathroom that provides you with an experience only found when you get to fully indulge yourself with a massage or facial. Not these lovely clients, they get to live this reality EVERYDAY!!!!

The words that capture the vision for this project were; effortless, earthy, natural and warm. It was to stand the test of time, like all my projects and hold a place in the clients heart that made them want to sit in the bath all day long soaking up the luxe and peace of the space providing ultimate wellness....a must in design these days!

We chose a natural travertine tile by Gather Co to wrap around the entire room floor to ceiling. Yes, even right up into that skylight void. This stone has beautiful soft variations in colour that provide texture and balance across the room playing on the paired warm tones of the other bathroom elements.

The Vanity wall is finished in a textural Mineral Fox microcement cleverly applied by Lauren Goodwin Decorative finishes. This finish is a textural experience, which compliments the organic nature of this calm space, along with curves throughout to create another level of softness and architectural appeal. Even the wall lights chosen marry in perfectly with this wall. The We Ponder handmade wall sconces, look like it is part of the wall. A match made in heaven.

I located the skylight on the walls edge to maximise the eyes visualisation of height, as it draws your eye directly up the wall and through the architectural void of light. This architectural feature floods the room with natural light directly over the bath. Rain, hail or shine imagine a bath looking up into this space, wine in hand and cheese to the side. YES PLEASE!

It was a pleasure to be apart of this stunning project and to have the opportunity to provide my clients with their dream main bathroom.
